RESOLUTION NO. 996
A RESOLUTION PROTESTING THE 1990 MARION COUNTY ASSESSOR'S ADJUSTMENT OF
SENIOR ESTATES PROPERTY EVALUATION.
WHEREAS, state statutes provide for the periodic adjustment
and assessment of property value for tax purposes; and
WHEREAS, the Marion County Assessor has adjusted the property
valuation in the City of Woodburn to reflect an overall 10% market increase
with a 15% market increase in that portion contained in Senior Estates;
and
WHEREAS. this valuation differential creates discord amongst
residents of Senior Estates; NOW, THEREFORE.
THE CITY OF WOODBURN RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
The City Council of the City of Woodburn protests the variable
assessment applied to Senior Estates versus the remainder of the community
and urges a more uniform approach in such assessments which are not indi-
viduallY evaluated on each property.
