Res 1097 - Adj Wtr/Swr Rates 92 COUNCIL BILL NO. 1355 RESOLUTION NO. 1097 A RESOLUTION ADJUSTING WATER AND SEWER RATES FOR THE YEAR 1992. WHEREAS, Section 12 of Ordinance No. 1866, as amended by Ordinance No. 1933, states that water rate adjustments will be established by Council action, and WHEREAS, Section 11 of Ordinance No, 1932 states that sewer rate adjustments will be established by Council action, and WHEREAS, in order for the water and sewer rates to be fiscally responsible to support service obligations, adjustments and modifications need to be made, and WHEREAS, a budget increase of more than $40,000.00 per year is expected because of new water test regulations that will require the City to obtain services of outside EPA approved testing labs, and WHEREAS, the Council is aware of the future wastewater plant modification needs, and it has approved facilities planning so that a cost effective construction alternative can be chosen that will meet the regulatory agency's requirements, and WHEREAS, the future budgets must reflect the above considerations and protect the health and safety of residents, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF WOODBURN RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The Council finds that it is in the public interest to increase rates as follows: A. Increase the minimum residential base rate by $1.00 per month for water and $0,70 per month for sewer starting in January 1992; B. Increase the water consumption charges for each additional 1 00 cubic feet, above the minimum, from $0,61 to $0.70 for the first 3,200 cubic feet (including 400 cubic feet allowed by base) and then $0,85 above 3,200 cubic feet, Page 1 - COUNCIL BILL NO, 1355 RESOLUTION NO. 1097 _.._-,~._----_.,._- Section 2.
