Res 1270 - Amend Personnel Man COUNCIL BILL NO. 1595 RESOLUTION NO. 1270 A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE PERSONNEL POLICY AND PROCEDURE MANUAL FOR CITY EMPLOYEES. WHEREAS, the recently passed state measure (known as Ballot Measure 8) provides specific constitutional requirements for state and local government retirement plans, and WHEREAS, the city's Personnel Policy and Procedure Manual requires an amendment to clarify the city's employment condition as it relates to employee contributions into our existing plans, now, therefore, THE CITY OF WOODBURN RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: section 1. That section 10.8{B) (1) shall read as follows: 1. The employee contributions shall be 6% of gross monthly salary. These contributions are considered as "picked- up" for the purposes of Internal Revenue Code section 414 (h) (2) and the city shall pay the contributions to the applicable retirement plans. An employee will not have the option to receive the "picked-up" contribution and directly make the contribution to their retirement plan. For federal and state income tax reporting purposes, the employee's gross wage shall be reduced by the amount of the employee contribution. These funds will be available to the employee at the time of retirement or termination of employment with the city.
