Res 1497 - Impl SB 780 Veh Imp COUNCIL BILL NO. 1908 RESOLUTION NO. 1497 A RESOLUTION IMPLEMENTING THE PROVISIONS OF SB 780 RELATING TO VEmCLE IMPOUNDMENT. WHEREAS, recent legislation (SB 780) changed Oregon state law to provide broader authority for all police officers to impound motor vehicles when they have probable cause to believe that certain offenses have been committed~ and WHEREAS, in order to implement this state legislation it is necessary for the City Council to make certain policy detenninations~ NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF WOODBURN RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Pursuant to provisions of SB 780 (1997 Or Laws, Ch. 514), the City Council designates the Woodburn municipal judge as hearings officer under said statute. Section 2. Effective July 1, 1998, pursuant to provisions of SB 780 (1997 Or Law Ch. 514) the Woodburn City Council establishes the amount of$75.00 as the administrative fee detennined by the Woodburn Police Department to be sufficient to recover its actual administrative costs for vehicle impoundment under said statute.
