Res 1636 - Skate Park Grant App COUNCIL BILL NO. 2320 RESOLUTION NO. 1636 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF WOODBURN TO APPLY FOR A LOCAL GOVERNMENT GRANT FROM OREGON PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT FOR THE SKATE PARK. WHEREAS, the Oregon parks and Recreation Department is accepting applications for the Local Government Grant Program; and WHEREAS, the City of Woodburn desires to participate in this grant program to the greatest extent possible as a means of providing needed park and recreation improvements and enhancements; and WHEREAS, the City of Woodburn's Recreation and Parks Board and City Council have recognized the constructing a Skate Park as a high priority need in Woodburn; and WHEREAS, a group of skate board and roller blade enthusiasts and concerned residents have formed a local committee to raise funds, facilitate design, assist with construction and help operate a skate park in Woodburn; and WHEREAS, the City has set designated $75,000 in the 2000-01 Capital Improvement Program as a local cash match for the project; and THE CITY OF WOODBURN RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the City of Woodburn be authorized to apply for a Local Government Grant from the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department for $75,000 at SettlemierPark as specified above.
