Res 1620 -Hearing re annex land COUNCIL BILL NO. 2297 RESOLUTION NO. 1620 A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE ANNEXATION OF ALL LANDS SURROUNDED BY THE CITY. THE CITY OF WOODBURN RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. A City Council goal, adopted as part of the 2001 Vision, Mission, and Goals, is to annex all "islands" within the City limits. Section 2. Pursuant to ORS 222.750 the "island" annexation statute, the Woodburn City Council proposes to annex all lands within the City that are entirely surrounded by the City limits of the City of Woodburn. Section 3. Pursuant to ORS 222.750 no election is required in the City on this issue and the properties annexed may be annexed without the consent of the property owners and electors within the areas to be annexed. Section 4. Pursuant to ORS 222.750 no public hearing is required before the City annexes islanded areas that are subject to a legislative decision-making process. Nonetheless, the Woodburn City Council sets a hearing date on April 23, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. before the Woodburn City Council on whether the City of Woodburn shall annex all those lands surrounded by the City depicted on Exhibit "A" and described in Exhibit "B" hereto. Section 5. Notice of said hearing shall be published once each week for two successive weeks prior to the day of the hearing, in a newspaper of general circulation in the City, and notices of the hearing shall be posted in four public places in the City for a like period.
