Subject: Amendment to URG 2013-04 345 N. Pacific Hwy (Dale Nelson)
DARS DECISION:
On August 10, 2014 the Downtown Advisory Review Subcommittee approved a
request from Dale Nelson (Applicant) to amend the approved project scope of
URG 2013-04 by removing the ADA ramp and railing component, reducing the
exterior grant from $15,000 to $12,952.25.
The Agency originally awarded Nelson an exterior grant of $10,000 to install new
windows, awnings, paint and to install an ADA ramp and railing. Additionally,
the Applicant received an interior grant of $5,000 for new flooring, countertops,
door knobs, baseboards and paint. Nelson requested to limit project scope by
eliminating the ADA ramp and rail component after the project cost changed
from its original estimate.
On July, 2014, the Urban Renewal Agency Board revised the Downtown Grant
and Loan Program procedures to allow businesses and/or property owners to
amend approved projects without reapplying to the Agency when project costs
change from original estimates. DARS' action appears on the Urban Renewal
Agency consent agenda as an informal item.
