Res 2055 - WPA Contract 2014COUNCIL BILL NO. 2971 RESOLUTION NO. 2055 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF WOODBURN AND THE WOODBURN POLICE ASSOCIATION FOR A CONTRACT BEGINNING ON JULY 1, 2014 AND ENDING ON JUNE 30, 2017 WHEREAS, the purpose of labor negotiations is to reach an agreement on matters relating to wages, hours, working conditions, and fringe benefits for certain represented employees; and WHEREAS, the City of Woodburn ("the City") and the Woodburn Police Association ("the WPA") have engaged in a number of good faith bargaining sessions in order to reach a new Collective Bargaining Agreement ("the Agreement"); and WHEREAS, the City Council has been briefed on the terms of the Agreement and authorized the City negotiating team to tentatively agree to it; and WHEREAS, the WPA ratified the Agreement at its membership meeting on October 2, 2014; NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY OF WOODBURN RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the Agreement tentatively agreed to by the parties and ratified by the WPA membership is attached to this Resolution as Exhibit "A." Section 2. That the City Administrator is authorized to execute the Agreement on behalf of the City once it is in an approved final form.
