RESOLUTION NO. 2010
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY SERVICES TO
APPLY FOR A LOCAL GOVERNMENT GRANT FROM THE OREGON PARKS AND
RECREATION DEPARTMENT FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A PLAYGROUND AT LEGION
PARK AND DELEGATING AUTHORITY TO THE DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY SERVICES
TO SIGN THE APPLICATION.
WHEREAS, the Oregon Parks and Recreation department is accepting
applications for the Local Government Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Community Services desires to participate in
this grant program to the greatest extent possible as a means of providing
needed parks and recreation improvements and enhancements; and
WHEREAS, the Recreation and Park Board, City Council, and staff have
identified the placement of a playground at Legion Park as a high priority need
in Woodburn; and
WHEREAS, the City of Woodburn's 2009 Parks and Recreation Master Plan
recommends that a playground be placed at Legion Park; and
WHEREAS, City residents will benefit from the placement of a playground
at Legion Park; and
WHEREAS, the applicant hereby certifies that the matching share for this
application is readily available; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY OF WOODBURN RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City of Woodburn's Community Services Department
be authorized to apply for a Local Government Grant from the Oregon Parks
and Recreation Department for the installation of a playground at Legion Park
and that the Director of Community Services be delegated authority to sign the
application.
