Ord 1487be appointed at the first regular meeting of the Common Council
following the expiration of the term of a predecessor member and
the terms of office shall expire at midnight on December 31.
The term of office of the ex-officio members of the Commission
shall be for the term of the office by virtue of which they were
designated to serve on the Commission. Any vacancy in the regular
membership of the Commission shall be filled by appointment made
by the Mayor with the consent of a majority of the Common Council
for the unexpired portion of the term. Members appointed by the
Mayor to the Commission shall qualify by taking and subscribing an
oath of office to uphold the Constitutions of the United States and
of the State of Oregon and to faithfully and impartially perform
the duties of the office to the best of thier ability. The members
of the Commission shall receive no compensation as such, except
as hereinafter provided.
Section 2. This Ordinance being necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency
is declared to exist and this Ordinance shall take effect immedi-
ately upon passage by the Council and approval by the Mayor.
