51 ESTABLISHING NEW CITY TAX BASE
Question: Shall the City of Woodburn, Marion County,
Oregon, increase its tax base from $81,060.00
to $401,127.00?
YES [ J
NO [ J
Explanation: The current Woodburn property tax base for
the City is $81,060.00. This is the base,
along with limited sources other than
property tax, which provides for general
government. General government, which
includes public safety, is a necessity.
The 1977-78 Public Safety Serial levy, as
approved by the voters in 1976, was $320,067.00
in excess of the current base of $81,060.00.
The two sums equal $401,127.00 which the
Common Council of the City of Woodburn places
before the voters to be established as a new
tax base for the purpose of general government.
