ORDINANCE N0. 1815
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. 1173 (GOVERNING ELECTION PROCEDURES) AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Oregon Legislature has acted in recent years to simplify
and consolidate state, county and city election procedures, and
WHEREAS, the recently enacted Woodburn City Charter provides an elections
procedure where notice is duly posted and the applicable state election laws are
followed, and
WHEREAS, it is no longer necessary to have a detailed city election pro-
cedure contained in a city ordinance, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY OF WOODBURN ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 1173, titled "An ordinance regulating and
governing the procedure to be followed in the calling and holding of all elections
in the City of Woodburn, Oregon, and declaring an emergency", together with any
amendments hereto are hereby repealed.
Section 2. This ordinance being necessary for the immediate preservation
of the pubic peace, health, and safety, in that the City Recorder has recently been
directed by the City Council to prepare a ballot title,an emergency is declared
to exist and this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage by the
Counci] and approval by the Mayor.
