ORDINANCE N0. 1834
AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO REAPPORTIONMENT OF WARD BOUNDARIES FOR THE CITY OF
WOODBURN, REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. 1519, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY,
WHEREAS, the six ward boundaries as required under the City Charter
were reapportioned after the 1980 census in accordance with the population
residing in the City, and
WHEREAS, the Council adopted the ward boundaries by motion on
January 11, 1982, and
~lHEREAS, formal adoption of the ward boundaries is required by
city ordinance, now, therefore,
THE CITY OF WOODURN ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City of Woodburn is hereby divided into six
wards, which shall be designated as Wards I, II, III, Iv, v, AND UI.
Section 2. That the boundaries of the six wards created by
Section 1 above shall be as indicated on a map kno4vn as "Ward Map of 1982",
three copies of which are an file in the office of the City Recorder,
and said map of boundaries indicated thereon are hereby adopted until
such time as they shall be amended or abolished by ordinance or charter.
Section 3. That Ordinance No. 1519 of the City of Woodburn
be, and the same is, hereby repealed.
Section 4. That a copy of this ordinance be sent to the
election department~~of Marion County, Oregon, to be attached to the
Ward Map of 1982 which was submitted by the City Recorder after the
map was adopted by Council motion on January 11, 1982.
Section 5. This ordinance being necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is
declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon
passage by the Council and approval by the Playor.
