Ord 1845COUNCIL BILL N0. 756 ORDINANCE N0. 1845 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 1655 RELATING TO PERSONNEL RULES FOR CITY EMPLOYEES AND DECLARING Aid EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, current personnel rules which address the retirement age of city employees should comply with the Federal Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and WHEREAS, it is necessary to remove the language from the rules on mandatory retirement below the age of seventy (l0) years, now, therefore, THE CITY OF ~lOODBURN ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That Section 6.6 of the Personnel Rules adopted by Ordinance No. 1655 be amended to read as follows: "6.6. Fire and Police employees may retire at the age of sixty X60) and all other city er~ployees may retire at the age of sixty-five (65). The mandatory retirement age for all employees is seventy X70) years of age." Section 2. This ordinance being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage by the Council and approval by the Mayor.
