Ord 1857COUNCIL BILL N0, 774 ORDINANCE N0, 1857 AN ORDINANCE SUBMITTING TO THE VOTERS OF THE CITY OF WOODBURN THE QUESTION OF WHETHER OR NOT THE CITY SHOULD ANNEX INTO THE WOODBURN RURAL FIRE PROTECTION~DISTRICT AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the City of Woodburn, by Resolution h~o. 743 initiated annexation of the City to the Woodburn Rural Fire Protection District and directed that an agreement be prepared between the City and the District,. and WHEREAS, the City of Woodburn, by Resolution [~o. 746, cal]ed an election to be held within the City at the polling places designated by the Marion County Election Clerk on the 27th day of March, 1984 for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of said City the question of whether ail the territory located within the corporate limits of the City of Woodburn shall be annexed to the Woodburn Rura] Fire Protection District, and WHEREAS, the agreement between the City of Woodburn and the Woodburn Rural Fire Protection District, providing for an orderly transition of assets and responsibility has been executed by the City, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF WOODBURN ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: Section~l. That a major portion of the City was previously within the boundaries of the Woodburn Rural Fire Protection District. Section ;2. That the issue of whether or not the City of Woodburn should annex into the Woodburn Rural Fire Protection District is hereby submitted to the voters of the City of Woodburn at an election to be held on the 27th day of March, 1984, between the hours of 8:OO;a:m, and 8:OO~,p;m,, Pacific Time, within the City at polling places to be designated by the Marion County Election Clerk. ANNEXATION OF CITY OF WOODBURN INTO WOODBURN RURAL FIRE DISTRICT QUESTION: Shall the City of Woodburn be annexed to Woodburn Rural Fire Protection District for fire protection and emergency medical services? EXPLANATION: The City now provides fire protection and emergency medical services within the city limits. The Woodburn .Rural Fire~Protection District provides these services within the limits of the district. The proposed annexation would form one unit of government serving the entire area within the present city and district with fire and emergency medical coverage.
