Measure No. 5i
AUTHORIZATION FOR ONE-YEAR OPERATING LEVY FOR CITY OF WOODBURN
QUESTION: Shall City of Woodburn be authorized to levy $615,578.00 outside
the tax base to finance city operations during 1984-85?
EXPLANATION: The City's tax base is only $115,979.00, therefore, it is
necessary to request a tax levy of $615,578.00 over and above the tax
base to provide for continuation of city services in the General Fund,
Street Light Fund, and Transit Fund.
A summary of taxes requested in this measure is as follows:
General Fund $478,000
Street Light Fund 98,339
Transit Fund 39,239
$615,578
The General Fund provides funding for Police services, Senior Programs,
Municipal Court, City Attorney's office, Administration, and City Hall
maintenance. Comparing the same General Fund services as listed above
in 1983-84 with 1984-85, the taxes required in the proposed budget are
less than the taxes levied in 1983-84.
This measure will also provide for street light operational costs and
six-day bus service for the community.
