ORDINANCE N0. 1870
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. 1362, THE CITY ETHICS ORDINANCE
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City of Woodburn is in the process of analyzing
and compiling its City ordinances, and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1362 constitutes the City ethics ordinance,
and
WHEREAS, the contents of Ordinance No. 1362 are largely addressed
by the Oregon State Ethics Law, and
WHEREAS, the Woodburn City Council believes that repeal of
Ordinance No. 1362 would streamline the existing ethics law without
removing their ethical protections provided by state law which currently
serve the public interest, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY OF WOODBURN ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 1362 is hereby specifically repealed.
Section 2. This ordinance being necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public peace, health, and safety, an emergency is
declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon
passage by the Council and approval by the Mayor.
