ORDINANCE N0. 1877
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. 1568, CONCERNING PUBLIC EMPLOYEE
STRIKES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City of Woodburn is in the process of analyzing
and compiling its city ordinances, and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 15b8 addresses the regulation of public
employee strikes and this topic is also addressed by the Public Employment
Collective Bargaining Act, ORS 243.650 - 243. 782, and
WHEREAS, it is legally clear that the State Bargaining Law over-
rides and supersedes the Woodburn City Ordinance, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY OF WOODBURN ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 1568 is hereby specif ically repealed.
Section 2. This ordinance being necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public peace, health, and safety, an emergency is
declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon
passage by the Council and approval by the Mayor.
