ORDINANCE N0. 1882
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AN AMBULANCE SERVICE RATE SCHEDULE PURSUANT TO
ORDINANCE N0. 1742, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, Woodburn Ambulance and Health Care, has an exclusive
franchise for the operation of an ambulance service pursuant to Ordinance
No. 1742, and
WHEREAS, said franchisee petitioned for a rate change pursuant to
said ordinance, and
WHEREAS, the Woodburn City Council held a public hearing on the
matter at its July 23, 1984, meeting, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY OF WOODBURN ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That after the conclusion of a public hearing, having
duly considered the information and testimony presented, the Woodburn City
Council hereby adopts the rates proposed by the franchisee, Woodburn Ambulance
and Health Care, as set out in its letter dated June 14, 1984, which is attached
hereto as Exhibit "A" and by this reference incorporated herein.
Section 2. That Section 2, Ordinance Na. 1742 is hereby amended
to read as follows:

~ Advances Life Support Rate is equal (under the
previous franchise terminology) to the Base Rate +
Emergency Charge. We have thereby eliminated the
Emergency Charge from our rate structure, to
improve Medicare reimbursements to the patients.
** This new charge is 100% allowable by Medicare,
minimizing the effect of the increase to retired
patients.
Section 3, This ordinance being necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public peace, health, and safety, an emergency is
declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect :immediately upon
passage by the Council and approval by the Mayor.
