RESOLUTION NO. 1958
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY SERVICES TO APPLY
FOR A LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION FUND GRANT FROM THE OREGON PARKS
AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE PLAYGROUND AT
WYFFELS PARK AND DELEGATING AUTHORITY TO THE DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY
SERVICES TO SIGN THE APPLICATION.
WHEREAS, the Oregon Parks and Recreation department is accepting
applications for the Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Community Services desires to participate in
this grant program to the greatest extent possible as a means of providing
needed parks and recreation improvements and enhancements; and
WHEREAS, the Recreation and Park Board, City Council, and staff have
identified the replacement of the Wyffels Park Playground as a high priority need
in Woodburn; and
WHEREAS, the City of Woodburn's 2009 Parks and Recreation Master Plan
recommends that the Wyffels Park playground be replaced during the 2009-
2012 planning period; and
WHEREAS, City residents will benefit from the replacement of the
playground at Wyffels Park; and
WHEREAS, the applicant hereby certifies that the matching share for this
application is readily available; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY OF WOODBURN RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City of Woodburn's Community Services Department
be authorized to apply for a Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant from the
Oregon Parks and Recreation Department for the Wyffels Park Playground
Replacement project as specified above. I
