ORDINANCE NO. 2432
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 1965 (THE SANITARY SEWER AND WATER
SERVICE ORDINANCE) TO PROVIDE FOR NEW DISCONNECTION PROCEDURES AND
SETTING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, Ordinance 1965 provides rules, regulations and enforcement for
the use and supply of city sanitary sewer service and water service; and
WHEREAS, Section 3 (B) of the ordinance provides charges for restoration
of sanitary sewer services and water services when such services have been shut
off for non-payment; and
WHEREAS, under current operation of Ordinance 1965, charges imposed
are not sufficient to cover the actual cost of handling delinquent accounts,
service shut off and service restoration; and
WHEREAS, the actual cost of such services are being subsidized by all City
residents; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is fair, and good public policy to
amend the fees charged for delinquent, shut-off and restoration of services,
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY OF WOODBURN ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 3 (B) of Ordinance 1965 is amended to read as follows:
(B) Fees charged for delinquency, disconnection and restoration of
sanitary sewer services and water services shall be in accordance with the
Master Fee Schedule. After the City water service has been disconnected
for non-payment, it shall not be restored until the past due amount and all
fees have been paid in full.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be effective May 1, 2008.
